In a very close game, the Chatham Maroons came out 2-1 over the London Nationals.

After no scoring in the first period during Wednesday’s game, Chatham was able to take a 1-0 lead in the second. London was able to tie the game in the third but the Maroons locked in their win scoring their final goal with less than minutes remaining.

Maroons Head Coach Mark Davis says goalie Bo Bessette was the hero of the game for the maroons.

“Our saviour was our goaltender tonight,” says Davis. “He’s the one who won the hockey game for us. He made some big saves. It’s unfortunate that they got a partial breakaway and scored on him, but Bo played very well.”

Bessette made 26 saves in the win.

The Maroons take on the St. Marys Lincolns on Sunday at 7pm.
