The Essex 73’s extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a 5-1 win over the Wheatley Sharks.

Eric Shaw and Phil Janikowski both had a goal and an assist for the 73’s, while teammate Colin Lauzon made 19 saves to pick up the win.

Frankie Ciacelli scored Wheatley’s lone goal on the power play as the Sharks saw their winning streak end at four.

Essex is off until Saturday when they head to Mooretown to face the Flags. Wheatley is back in action on Friday when they hit the road to take on the Dresden Kings.
