Community Living Walkathon

Over 300 walkers will be racing around the track at UCC Tuesday afternoon for Community Living Chatham-Kent’s Walkathon.

This year’s walk has a NASCAR theme and will feature drivers and race cars from South Buxton Raceway.

“We have Hooker Racing coming out to provide us with a couple of static displays of their cars,” says Manager of Community Relations and Development Jim Douglas. “Our official starter is going to be Jake Hooker, Jake is a 13-year-old driver, he’s graduated from the go-kart circuit and he’s been out Buxton racing with the big boys.”

Douglas says they’re hoping to raise just over $25,000 and will go to support their programs and services. Registration opens at 4:30pm and the walk gets under at 5pm.
