The inaugural Grapes of Wrath fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society of Chatham-Kent was a huge success.

“We’re just humbled with how many people were really, embracing this new event for Chatham-Kent,” says event chair Rachel MacLeod. “We had also 300 people registered to participate, and over $37,000 was raised to date. So we’re just so humbled and so thankful for the support.”

Participants ran a 2.5km course through mud, tackling obstacles like pyramids of straw bales, climbing walls, and pulling Jeeps.

Fundraising coordinator Lauren Drury says they plan on running the Grapes of Wrath again next year.
