The Chatham Maroons got a little revenge in their home opener, downing the Leamington Flyers 3-1.

Leamington knocked Chatham from the finals in the playoffs last year.

Maroons head coach Mark Davis says his team showed its experience and maturity. “We didn’t take a lot of crap from the team and it was a great game,” says Davis. “That was like a playoff game, I thought Leamington played well, I thought we played well, it was a good game to coach.”

Maroons goalie Bo Bissette stopped 39 shots for the win. Chatham’s now 2-0 to start the season and is off until Sunday when they host Strathroy.
