Maroons Win Season Opener

The Chatham Maroons are 1-0 to start the season thanks to a hard fought 5-4 shootout win over the Stars in St.Thomas.

Head coach Mark Davis says his team didn’t play as well as they should, but still came out with the win. “I said to the guys ‘there’s games that we’re gonna play that we’re gonna win that we shouldn’t have and that’s probably one of them tonight,” says Davis.

Chatham trailed in the game on three separate occasions before eventually pulling out the victory.

The Maroons outscored the Stars 2-1 in the shootout thanks to goals by Brennan Feasey and captain Michael Verboom.

The Maroons are back in action Sunday night for their home opener at Memorial Arena when they host the Leamington Flyers.
