Chatham-Kent Police Service Chief Dennis Poole is being honoured with a national award.

Poole is receiving the Order of Merit of the Police Forces and is humbled by the recognition.

“I’m among some great company and some other police leaders who are much more deserving than I am for their contributions to the community and to the profession over the years,” says Poole. “I think my involvement with the OACP, community policing committee, and the OACP board of directors has probably contributed to that recognition.”

Poole will receive the honour from the Governor General at a ceremony in Ottawa on Tuesday.
