Look Out For Children

Area police are reminding motorists to be aware of children travelling to school this morning.

The Windsor Police Service is launching a month-long campaign targeting drivers making school bus or school crossing infractions.

Staff Sergeant John Richards says parents and children also need to be mindful of traffic as they walk to school. “If the kids are going to be walking on the side of the street, we encourage light coloured clothes, that sort of thing and people should be instructing their children about crossing the streets with the crossing guards instead of at the other intersections around the schools.”

Richards says officers are also reminding students using their bikes to get to school to obey the rules of the road.
