Swim Team On The Rise

The Blenheim Blast swim team is making a splash.
The club has been around for 17 years is run completely run by volunteers.
says they’ve really grown in the last few years…
“It is a small club. Up until about five or six years ago we were servicing about 20 or 25 kids,” says Head Coach John Van Herk. “The last little while we’ve probably been servicing closer to 40 kids from the community. I like to refer to it kind of as one of those best kept secrets.”
14-year old Brendan Van Heck recently won a bronze medal in the 50-metre breaststroke at Nationals, the club’s first national medal.
