The Detroit Lions have trimmed their roster from 75 players to the league maximum of 53.

Notable players to get cut were receiver Kris Durham, running back Mikel Leshoure (My-kel Le-sure), and defensive back Chris Greenwood.

Notables to make the team were 3rd string quarterback Kellen Moore, and receivers Corey Fuller and Ryan Broyles.
NFL rules state that teams had to trim their rosters down from 75 to 53 players by yesterday’s 4pm deadline.

The regular season opens this Thursday but the Lions open their 16 game schedule under the bright lights of Monday Night Football when they host the New York Giants September 8th at Ford Field.
