A chance to get some exercise and help the fight against cancer at the same time.

The Chatham-Kent branch of the Canadian Cancer Society is hosting Cycling for Hope. Branch unit manager Cindy Vinall says riders can choose from 20, 40, or 60 kilometer distances.

“Every 10km we will have a turnaround for those folks that have decided maybe they’ve taken on a bit more than what their physical activity level is for the day, or for those that want to push themselves farther, absolutely,” says Vinall. Emergency service personnel are helping to organize the event that will include participants from Chatham-Kent Police, fire, OPP, and EMS.

The event is being held September 6 and anyone who wants to register can do so at the society office on Richmond St. or online at cancer.ca.
