The Chatham Maroons’ head coach and general manager is calling this weekend’s opening camp one of the best he’s ever seen.

Mark Davis says it was a real challenge to send some of the young talent home and trim the roster down to 40 players.

“The talent that’s out there, it was just amazing,” says Davis. “It makes our job really tough, but on the other hand it’s awesome to sit up there and watch some real good talent. Your future in Chatham is going to be very exciting.”

Davis says close to 70 young hockey players took part in the camp.

The Maroons have scrimmages on Tuesday and Thursday before the Maroon and White game on Sunday at Chatham Memorial Arena.
