A Chatham-Kent plowing match gets underway today and will attract a range of competitors from a wide area.

Chatham-Kent Plowmen’s Association President Rob Sterling says the event gets underway at 10am just north of Dover Centre on Baldoon Rd.

“Certainly the plowing competition is the key feature and we’ll have everything from horse plowing to antique tractors to very modern equipment as well,” he says. “They have this year the Queen of the Furrow competition and with that competition we’ll have the contestants plowing at 2pm.”

The event typically attracts more than 50 competitors.
