Unemployment Stable & Improving Locally

The unemployment rate in Windsor has improved in the last month.

Numbers posted by StatsCan this morning say the Rose City’s jobless rate improved from 9% to 8.5% from June to July. Meantime, London’s rate remained unchanged at 7.4%.

At the provincial level, Ontario’s jobless rate improved slightly from 7.5% to 7.4% while the national level fell to 7% in July from 7.1% the previous month.

A breakdown of the numbers from June to July: Youth (15-24 years) unemployment 13.2% from 13.4%; Men (25 plus) unemployment 6.2% from 6.4%; Women (25 plus) unemployment 5.5% from 5.7%.
