A 37-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after being caught driving a stolen vehicle in Chatham while serving five different suspensions.

Police say the man was stopped on Lorne Ave. around 7pm yesterday. He was unable to provide a driver’s licence and gave a verbal identification. Police say the driver lied about his name and arrested.

Investigation revealed the man was bound by three Canada-wide driving bans as a result of criminal driving convictions. He was also serving two Ontario-wide licence suspensions.

The man of no fixed address remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
