Alert Citizen Saves Legion Barbecue

The Chatham-Kent Police Service says an observant citizen helped arrest a suspect after an attempted theft from the Royal Canadian Legion on William St.
Just after 5am Sunday morning, the citizen called police after watching a man attempt to steal a barbecue from the fenced area of the legion.
When police arrived, a man was pushing the barbecue down William St.
Police say the 29-year-old suspect also violated several court ordered conditions.
