Chatham’s newly refurbished water tower isn’t just more efficient and appealing.

Mayor Randy Hope says the recently unveilled tank also sends a message to visitors that Chatham-Kent cares about the quality of its water and infrastructure.

“You hate to say it, but sometimes image is always important,” says Hope. “So if you see something that looks good you know that the interest that they spend their money on it to make sure not only does it look good, but they’re also (going to) know that there should be quality of services being provided in there.”

The refurbished tank includes an upgraded internal stirring system and a fresh coat of exterior paint with municipal branding. It was unveilled earlier this week and is expected to be fully operational by the week of August 18.
