The cool summer weather in southwestern Ontario hasn’t had a negative effect on tourism across the municipality.

That’s according to Chatham-Kent Tourism Spokesperson Jennifer Pietens.

“We’ve been lucky so far and I don’t think the cool weather has kept people away,” says Pietens. “It might actually be a good thing. Sometimes the heat, if it gets too hot it can keep people away but we’ve had lots of numbers come through Chatham-Kent this year.”

Pietens admits businesses involved with beaches and water sports may be experiencing a slowdown this year.
