Organizers are calling this year’s Blenheim Cherry Fest an epic success.

Chairperson Martha Nicholls believes great weather was the key factor. “Mother nature was on our side,” says Nicholls. “Last year we had an epic wind storm, we had rain, we had tents blowing away in the breeze, this year we didn’t have that, we had a little bit of rain on Saturday but it was nothing.”

The festivities included mainstays like The Best Cherry Pie Eating Contest Ever, The Cherry Pit Spit Contest, carnival rides, outdoor movies, sidewalk sales, and the newly introduced Cherryoke, which Nicholls says was a great success.

Nicholls adds that attendance for the Cherry Pit Spit contest was also up.
