Kingsville Golfer Surrenders Lead
Alyssa Getty’s second round at the Investors Group Ontario Jr. Girls’ Championship did not go as well as her first.
The 17-year-old shot a four over 76 at Maple City Country Club in the second round. Eight shots off of her course record the day before. “I struggled a little bit today, hopefully tomorrow will be better,” says Getty. “I think I made a few mistakes early on and didn’t get off to a great start. It happens.”
Getty sits tied for 2nd at an even par 144 through two rounds. Mitchell’s Courtney Tolton has a three stroke lead at 141.
Other local golfers include Jasmine Ly of Windsor in 32nd with a two round total of 170 and Brooke MacKinnon of Chatham at 39th with 177. Melanie Burgess of LaSalle and Chatham’s Julia Moretto didn’t make the cut.
