A three-vehicle accident in Chatham has led to charges for a passerby.
Chatham-Kent police say a car rear-ended another car stopped on St. Clair St. near Stone Ave. on Monday just before 1pm.
The impact of the collision pushed the second vehicle into a car in front of it causing $10,000 in total damage. A 52-year-old woman from Coatsworth was charged with careless driving.
As paramedics assessed two people at the scene who were eventually taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, a motorist drove by and took a picture of the accident on his cellphone.
He was stopped by officers at the scene and charged with using a handheld communication device while driving.
