No Change To Visor Rules

Kids playing hockey in The Ontario Hockey Association won’t be required to wear a full face visor for the upcoming season.

A proposed amendment requiring the protection was tabled at this year’s general meeting.

OHA Director Larry Keenan says it’s a complicated issue.

“Some teams are really strong proponents of the visor and there are others that feel it could lead to other problems,” says Keenan. “They could be, a number of high sticks increasing and even having an effect on fighting. So all these issues need to be discussed.”

Keenan says he’s seen some injuries that could have been prevented and is in support of full face visors.
