Leamington Catholic Students Getting $1.6-Million

An anonymous donor is committing $40,000 for each of the 40 graduating Grade 8 students at Queen of Peace Catholic Elementary School in Leamington.
Communications coordinator at the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board Stephen Fields says they got a call from the donor last Thursday.
“He is making a total of $1.6-million available for students who graduate this year from Queen of Peace Catholic Elementary School, go on to Cardinal Carter Catholic Secondary School, and then go on to pursue a post-secondary education at any institution anywhere in Canada,” says Fields. “I’ve never heard of anything like this before. From what I understand this is something relatively new for the people around here.”
Fields says the donor wishes to remain anonymous and is asking that people will respect his privacy.
