Hospice Board Seeking Architect

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Board is now accepting proposals for the design of a 10-bed residential hospice.

The architectural plan is expected to be completed in the fall and construction will start soon after.

“As you can appreciate, this is going to be a key facility and key point of care in our facility and we’re looking to partner with someone who feels the same way about it,” says Chair of the Hospice Construction Committee Jim Laforet. “We’re looking for them to tell us which team they’re going to put forward and their experience relative to this, whether they’ve done hospice work before or other health care type facilities.”

The Request for Proposal can be found at www.chathamkenthospice.com. It is expected the hospice will open in 2015.
