No Designation For Rondeau Cottages
Rondeau cottages will not be designated as heritage sites by the Municipal Heritage Committee.
The group says designating cottages in Rondeau Provincial Park would be in conflict with the Ontario Heritage Act.
The group advised council there are financial implications related to the possible heritage designation of the cottages, which are on provincial land.
In April, Councillor Jeff Wesley asked the committee to determine if the cottages could become heritage sites to make it harder for the province to evict cottage owners. The leases for the cottages on provincial land expire in 2017.
