Hail Hits Parts of Southwest
A band of thunderstorms that rolled through southwestern Ontario hit parts of Chatham-Kent and Essex County with hail.
Chatham-Kent Councillor Brian King says it hit a property he owns south of Tilbury and reached east to Merlin.
“I went out and surveyed it this morning and it has split some of the leaves on the corn plants and knocked a few leaves off on the beans,” he says. “Where it rained the most, it hailed the most.”
King says plants were not critically damaged and he expects they grow out of any damage.
