Newly re-elected Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Conservative MPP Monte McNaughton is being encouraged by community members to make a pitch for the party’s leadership.
This follows the resignation of Leader Tim Hudak after a poor showing for the party in Thursday’s election.
McNaughton says he’s taking a wait and see approach.
McNaughton says when the Legislature resumes July 2, the key issues will be the size of the province’s debt, rising energy costs and a shifting a bigger focus to rural communities.
McNaughton won the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding by over 8 thousand votes.
