The 2014 Dr. Jack Parry Awards, honouring the top graduating student-athletes, were handed out.

UCC’s Michelle Truong was the female recipient, who was nervous before they announced her name. “I was with a lot of other people that I played sports with or have seen around, they’re really well known people. I thought it was going to be very even and I was very surprised.”

Jake Lindley from CKSS was the male winner. “I was very excited at the same point, but also very honoured to be on this big trophy and be honoured with the multiple names, the very prestigious names, that are on the award.”

Truong is attending the University of Waterloo next year where she will study life sciences with a major in bio-med with the hope of going to Optometry school in the future. She is thinking of trying out for the volleyball team or playing recreational tennis.

Lindley is attending the University of Windsor next year to study Human Kinetics and plans to go to teacher’s college after that. He is planning on trying out for the men’s basketball team.
