Domestic Leads To Drug Bust

The Chatham-Kent Police Service has seized a significant amount of pot after responding to a domestic call in Wheatley.

Police say last night, a man and woman were in a verbal argument that became physical and when officers entered the home, they spotted a marijuana grow operation.

The seizure includes about 80 mature and infant plants and a bag of processed buds worth a total of $81,500.

A 32-year-old Wheatley man is charged with assault and production of a controlled substance. His roommate, a 50-year-old Wheatley man, is charged with production of a controlled substance. The woman didn’t require medical attention
