Suspect Arrested After Break In

Chatham-Kent police have a suspect in custody facing several theft and possession charges after a break-in at an electronics store overnight.

Police responded to an alarm at The Source store on St. Clair St. about 3am and discovered the front door smashed and $7,000 worth of cell phones and tablets missing.

They got a description and a couple of hours later discovered a man on a bicycle who matched the description and was in possession of a stolen iPhone as well as some methamphetamine.

A 44-year-old man of no fixed address is being held for a bail hearing, facing charges of break and enter, mischief under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and drug possession.
