Ministry Asking To Work Overnight
Anyone living along Hwy. 40 between Chatham and Wallaceburg might experience some noisy evenings.
The Ministry of Transportation has asked Chatham-Kent council for a noise exemption by-law. The ministry wants to be able to do night-time and weekend construction, when necessary, from August to December.
The noise exemption would allow for excavating, milling and paving work along Hwy. 40.
If approved at Monday night’s meeting, work could take place between 11pm and 7am, when necessary.
