Big Bike Chatham-Kent Totals

Money is still coming in from this year’s Heart and Stroke Big Bike campaign, but totals are anticipated to be less than what was raised in 2013.

So far, the Chatham-Kent community has raised $90,000 for heart and stroke research as a result of ten rides. Chatham-Kent Secondary School raised the most out of five secondary schools taking part, bringing in $2,7075.

“It’s a little lower than years past. Last year, we raised $127,000 across Chatham-Kent, so it’s a little lower but it seems to be reflective of the economy in the area,” says Heart and Stroke Foundation of Chatham-Kent Program Coordinator Nick Jacobs. “There’s still some more to come in through corporate matches and things like that.”

Jacobs says they had a similar number of participants and the same number of rides this year compared to last.
