Boundaries and Council Salaries Studied

Chatham-Kent administration is putting all aspects of council under the microscope.

Council coordinator Meredith Cadotte says ward boundaries, the composition of council and the pay representatives receive will all be reviewed.

“It has been a long time since council has had a full review of their wages,” says Cadotte. “It’s been since 2004. It’s hard to say what recommendation will be brought forward. We’ll look at other municipalities that are relatively the same as us as much as we can.”

That report will come back in 2015. Boundary changes couldn’t be made until the following election. Administration will also be looking at the committees of council and bringing back a report this summer.
