Condo Project Drains DCIP

The majority of this year’s Downtown Community Improvement Plan (DCIP) money is going to a Chatham condo project.

Developers of the Boardwalk on the Thames will get a cheque for $204,000. The money was used to entice the developer downtown and is a rebate for their building permit.

A $20,000 facade improvement in Ridgetown and a $5,000 facade improvement in Blenheim were also approved under the DCIP.

Meantime, a $15,000 facade improvement in Wheatley was turned down because there was no money left.
