Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne speaks at a Liberal rally in Windsor on May 20, 2014.

Campaigning For Support In Windsor

Premier Kathleen Wynne is campaigning in Windsor, looking to increase support for her party in a region where there is only one Liberal MPP.

Liberal MPP Teresa Piruzza holds the riding of Windsor West. She is the only Liberal MPP in all of Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. Wynne says Piruzza and her party have constantly supported the region and will continue to do so, if re-elected.

“Windsor is the heart of the auto sector. When our government knew that the auto sector was taking a hit, we knew we had to be there to step up,” says Wynne, who notes the Liberals have a plan to support industry in the area. “It invests in infrastructure, invests in the talent and skills of our people and it partners with businesses, like businesses in the auto sector, to make sure that they are here for years and years to come.”

Wynne will tour Omega Tool in Tecumseh on Wednesday morning before heading to the Toyota plant in Cambridge.
