Two Wheatley built ships will be launched in Niagara this weekend replacing the Maid of the Mist.

Hike Metal was commissioned to build the vessels by Hornblower Niagara Cruises for around $8-million.

Company President Andy Stanton says he is proud his company is a part of this world class operation. “It was a fairly large project for us in terms of man power and time requirements. It was a fairly compressed schedule to build two large vessels like this that carry 700 passengers each and in sections. There was a lot of designing and planning that went into this project.”

The ships will be christened and named on June 10.
