The Chatham-Kent Police Service is looking to Wallaceburg, Ridgetown and central Chatham for a new pilot project.

Project Coordinator James Cox says the plan is to have the pilots up and running in the next few months. “It involves bringing together community members, police and local government,” says Cox. “We’ll look at the community safety situation within a very specific neighbourhood and determine if there is any action that can be undertaken to reduce those risks.”

Central Chatham is being described as the area of Raleigh St., Lorne Ave. and Gray St.

Cox says the three pilots were selected due to specific problems with crime.
