Blenheim Volunteers Recognized

The Blenheim Youth Centre is celebrating seven years in the community.

The centre is open to kids between the ages of 11 and 18 and offers after school and weekend programming.

President Penny Wilton says it all started when a Blenheim-based officer approached her. “He had said he was walking the beat and said, ‘we have a problem with youth here and they need somewhere to go,'” notes Wilton. “So that’s what inspired it and we all worked together and here we are today which is basically nine years later.”

Wilton and Vice President Gary Warwick were recently honoured with citations from the Chatham-Kent Police Service Board. The centre’s website can be found here.
