The Detroit Lions added another weapon to their offense in the first round of the NFL draft.
The Lions took North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron with the 10th overall pick in last night’s draft.
“We’ve got two pretty good tight ends as it is, but he’s got a different skill set,” says Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. “That just adds a whole new element to your offense. A tight end that can run like that, that maybe you can take advantage of a little bit more easily than you can another receiver.”
The Houston Texans took South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with the first pick. The Buffalo Bills traded up with Cleveland to get the No. 4 pick, selecting wide receiver Sammy Watkins out of Clemson.
