Thunderstorms And Hail Overnight

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of possible thunderstorms, lightning and small hail.

The weather agency says the storm is moving in from southeast lower Michigan and will affect parts of southwestern Ontario Wednesday night. The storms are not expected to be severe but some thunderstorms could be quite strong with frequent lightning and pea to marble sized hail. Heavy downpours of 15-25 mm in an hour or less are also possible, along with wind gusts up to 60 km/h.

Environment Canada is cautioning motorists to be prepared for sudden low visibility during very heavy downpours.

The special weather statement is in effect for Sarnia-Lambton, Windsor-Essex, and Chatham-Kent.
