The Green Party has moved quickly to name a candidate for Chatham-Kent-Essex and has nominated Ken Bell.

Bell would like to see more community benefit from wind turbines, more protection for the environment and awareness of a hot topic in Chatham-Kent.

“I’m kind of hoping to get a little traction on the woodlot issue, not that it’s a provincial thing,” he says. “But just to get some consciousness of the environment out there.”

Bell also says that while he does support wind turbines, he doesn’t think the local area gets enough of an economic boost from them and there should be more local input into how many are built and where they go.
