Water Tower Out Of Service

Chatham residents could be looking at water restrictions this summer.
Built in 1994, the PUC is doing some maintenance work to the Chatham water tower and has drained it.
“We’re re-coating the outside as well as the inside, so what we’ll have is a green, fellow and red light scenario,” says Chatham-Kent PUC Facility and Systems Manager Rob Bernardi. “We’ve adjusted the way we distribute water in the water system and we’re utilizing the Pain Court elevated water tank for that now.”
A water mixing system within the tower is also being replaced. Total cost is $1.8-million and work should be completed by August.
