In Custody After Chase

Chatham-Kent police say they’ve arrested a suspect in connection with a high-speed chase.
It started around 7:15am Saturday when a patrolling officer spotted a car on Third St. travelling at a high rate of speed only to have it flee, run a red light, drive onto a sidewalk and then pull into a driveway on Lorne Ave. The driver fled the scene.
The officer recognized the man who was under suspension, and police say the licence plate was stolen and the cup holder of the car had an open can of beer.
A Chatham man wastaken into custody this morning and is being held for a bail hearing on charges that include flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, having open alcohol in a car and possession of stolen property.
