The Chatham-Kent Cultivating Neighbourhood Grant Program application deadline is fast approaching.

Amy Wilcox, a community development analyst, says there’s a total of $5,000 to hand out to three projects. “This is the first year we’re offering this,” says Wilcox. “It’s a unique opportunity for groups that don’t currently have charitable numbers to come in and provide a project proposal where they could do many things to cultivate the neighbourhood, whether it’s a cleanup project or community garden.”

The deadline for applications is May 9. Proposals will then be posted online for people to vote on.
