Chatham-Kent police officers likely got more than they bargained for following a disturbance call in Chatham.

Police responded to a home on Victoria Ave. yesterday and saw a woman kicking the front door, while yelling and swearing. The woman caused $500 damage by breaking the glass.

According to police, she fled on foot and wouldn’t cooperate when officers caught up and arrested her. Back at headquarters, she bit the hand of an officer. Police then say she defecated in her holding cell and threw the feces at the officers. The investigation shows the woman had been at the same home earlier on and assaulted a man there.

The 28-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault causing bodily harm, two counts of mischief, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer.
