Expanding Access To Dental Care
The province and local public health units are now offering more access to free dental care.
The Healthy Smiles program focuses on preventative care for children under the age of 17, but Dental Hygienist Leanne Pepper says it goes beyond that.
“You can go and get that checkup to make sure you’re doing everything right at home, the brushing and the flossing is working and they’re staying cavity free,” says the public health hygienist . “If for some reason they do have some issues that need to be taken care of, the program will cover for fillings.”
There are income eligibility requirements to meet. For more information click here.
