Moderate Economic Growth Predicted

TD Bank Chief Economist Craig Alexander speaks at a Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon, April 15, 2014.

The Chief Economist at TD Bank is projecting moderate economic growth in Canada and Windsor in the coming years.

Craig Alexander expects the Canadian dollar to continue to decline which he says is good for Canadian exports. He says that’s good for the Canadian economy overall.

“Your going to see businesses start to feel more confident, and start to invest more. I think job creation is going to be moderate, i think unemployment is gradually going to come down. So we’re not looking at a booming economy but I do think we’re going to see the Canadian economy grow from 2% growth last year up to 2.25% this year,” says Alexander.

Alexander predicts the Bank of Canada won’t be making any changes to interest rates until the second quarter of 2015.
