Standoff With Stabbing Suspect
A suspect accused of stabbing another man has been taken into custody following an 11 hour standoff with police.
Windsor police say around 5am on Sunday, officers attended the 200-block of Lauzon Rd. in Windsor, after a reported stabbing. Officers discovered a man had been injured and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say officers at the scene then “isolated and contained the situation” and began negotiations with a male suspect who refused to leave an apartment unit. The man eventually surrendered to police without incident around 3:30pm.
Lauzon Road was closed to traffic between Clairview Ave. and Riverside Dr. E. for around four hours and was reopened just before 4pm.
The investigation is ongoing.
