Festival Comes Up Big
Local charities and food banks will benefit from $307,600 raised in this year’s Festival of Giving.
Art Stirling, executive director of the Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation, says the total is about the same as last year.
“Maybe down about $10,000. We fluctuated depending on what level sponsors come in at or an auction sale auction may not sell for what we think it will,” notes Stirling. “$307,000 in Chatham-Kent in this economy? I’ll take it.”
Over the last 13 years, more than $2-million has been raised through the festival.
