Golf Courses Opening Up

The warming weather has golfers itching to get out on the links and a lot of courses polled by BlackburnNews.com are ready for action. But some are still a little too wet for play.

Baldoon in Wallaceburg had a line-up when it opened and pro shop manager Ryan Gurd says it got started by opening just nine holes.

“Sunday morning we had a little bit of frost delay but around 9:45, 10 o’clock people were waiting to get out,” he says. Ryan Duby from Fox Glenn in Essex says there is a lot of early season interest. “We’re getting tons of calls that’s for sure.”

Opening of the golf season is about a week behind last year, but several courses say anything before the beginning of May is a bonus.
